About me

Hi! Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Jerilyn and I’m a communications leader, project manager, and digital editor with more than a decade of experience spanning journalism, digital media, and tech. My career began in newsrooms, where I nurtured a sharp editorial eye and instinct, a love for research and reporting, and the ability to translate highly complex information into clear, factual, and engaging stories for the American public.

Most recently, I led community programs and projects for a Silicon Valley–based cybersecurity company. I developed an expertise in cross-functional project management, shaped crisis communications strategies, and excelled at building meaningful, effective relationships with global customers, partners, and stakeholders. I departed from my role in August 2025 to focus on new opportunities in strategic communications and project management. â€‹

Outside of full-time work, I’ve maintained an active and diverse freelance practice—from profiling dental innovators to serving as editor-in-chief of a hyperlocal magazine. I'm a naturally curious, empathetic, and analytical person who delights in making new connections, learning new skills, and broadening my horizons. I’m currently open to new full-time or freelance opportunities. Let's connect!

On a personal note...

I'm an explorer of the #solofemaletraveler variety—you can see some of my travel snapshots below—and have been working on my Spanish language skills for many moons.  When I'm off the clock, you’ll find me playing outdoors, practicing Spanish, or planning my next trip.
